Summary
L’homme Distrait is a painting in the corner of the room, below a collection of Renoir’s studies of water. People’s eyes pass over it, oddly put off, although there isn’t much wrong with it. At first, anyway.
It is by a young man named Alfred Sisley, and it is odd because Sisley is known (already) for his landscapes. It is a very small canvas, all light and the spill of shadow, the press of a hand against a pillow, the fall of hair along bare shoulders, a shirt slipped down to cup the upper arm, to reveal a smattering of intimate freckles along the back of the neck, trailing ever-downwards. Morning sun spills through the window the figure looks out of, and his face is hidden by the picture, captured from behind. His fingertips press into the pillow, clutching a little of the fabric, and what little the viewer can see below him shows bare feet tucked underneath bare legs, a tantalising peek at whatever else might lie beneath. It is tender.

Yoongi is a sea-witch from the icy country at the top of the world; he's been sailing on one ship or another for a year now, trying to work out where the magic is going, vanishing from the world. Hoseok is a mysterious man in a mask who needs a boat, and as the two of them set out on a quest for the Witch at the Edge of the World, they may find more that ties them together than they thought at first.

Jo Haseul is the carer of the woods.
Of course, that isn’t her only job. On weekday evenings she goes into the village, where she’s part of a freestyle zumba class (her, her instructor, Old Lady Elaine from down the town, and two nine-year-old twin boys called Toddy and Toby. She also runs milk deliveries for the fishermen, who don’t charge much at all for the squid-ink milk bottles (healing properties, very nice in tea), and when she’s got a moment free she fills in surveys online for spare change.
So correction: Jo Haseul is the carer of the woods, the dancer of zumba, the deliverer of milk, and the filler of surveys.

Michelle and Ned are sitting in Peter’s room; May’s got plenty used to them being around even without her nephew, and at this point Michelle’s more familiar with Peter’s apartment than she is her own house. He’s crawling through the window to greet them, his mask already balled up in his fist, and there’s a big splot of blood blooming on his lip. “Homework, or Star Wars?”
“First Aid,” says Ned. “First aid. Then homework. Then Star Wars.”
Michelle Jones is not happy with the way Peter's colleagues look out for his personal safety. And because Peter obviously can't be trusted to look after himself, seems like she's gotta do it for him.

The hollering man is sitting in the back, on top of the hay bale, with a blade of hay hanging out of his mouth and a straw hat balanced on his head, although he takes it off to tip it at Yoongi when the cart comes to a halt. The first thing Yoongi notices is how uncommonly pretty the man is, when the brim of his hat isn’t casting his face into shadow. A smattering of freckles sprinkled across his cheeks, the pointed tip of his nose; lips that smile brightly, and eyes that glimmer in the evening sun. He’s got a daisy sticking out of the front pocket of his dungarees, and his feet hang out over the side of the hay cart. He looks the picture of ease, and his smile only widens when he makes eye contact with Yoongi, like he’s genuinely happy to see him. “You must be the bloke who took Poppy Cottage, right? I’m Hoseok. I’m in Sunflower Farm just over the hill - aw, it’s really good to meet you.”

Tony Stark makes the offer again. This time, it’s for serious. Peter thinks about it, and asks a few friends for advice.

“He says,” Peter swallows, “He says I could. Like. Make more of a difference? In the Avengers.”
“Okay,” Matt says. With Matt, it’s a toss of the coin what sort of reaction you’ll get; Matt only has two modes of treating emotion, and one is to deliver long, heartfelt speeches where he ends up crying at the end, and the other is to hiss like the stray cat he is in his soul, and to run away to go terrorise some terrorists down at the docks. The third option is one Peter’s only been told about by Wade and by Mr Nelson, and that is for Matt to curl up in a ball, hands over his ears, and curse into his knees until someone gives him noise-cancelling headphones and a cup of something warm and caffeinated.
Peter isn’t sure which option he’d prefer, now.
