Summary
Nero rolls a coin between his fingers as he walks through dim streets and even darker alleys, considering his next moves. If this is a loyalty test, he should tell Snow what he has learned, but the main room where Snow spends his time is not where Nero will find himself when he returns back. The cool weight of gold in his hand is grounding enough to keep his head clear to think. The moon is high above the clouds but does little to illuminate his path.
Somewhere to his right, an alley or so down, there is a clattering of noise. Nero pauses, ears pricking up. His focus is in the wrong place, standing at the edge of another alley. A hand wraps around his wrist, pulling him back. Nero reacts on nothing but instinct, knife sliding from his sleeve to his palm, turning around to press the sharp edge against the offender's throat. Green eyes glow in the dark, and Nero nearly drops the knife.
Murr does not react beyond a faintly amused smile. Simply guiding the blade away with the tip of his finger as he lets go of Nero. “There is no need for that, is there?”

Summary
Why would Ferid send them to this rotting mansion in the countryside if absolutely nothing of worth was in this entire building? It wasn’t like he would disobey his orders, but he was certainly irritated about it. This was the third empty place Ferid had delegated him off to.
There was no way Ferid had no idea they’d all been abandoned ages ago. It was a Ferid thing to do though, send him off on missions that were worth nothing just because he was bored. Lacus couldn’t think of anything particularly regrettable he’d done on the field lately, so he doubted this was some sort of punishment.

Summary
“One more! Come on, come on, one more round!” Murr is standing back up, leaning over the table, a clear lack of respect for personal space. It makes Nero’s heart rate pitch, a mix of stress and something else. Murr just has that effect on him.
Nero pushes his hair out of his face, looking up at Murr as he stares down at him. A clear determination visible in Murr, unwilling to take ‘no’ for an answer. Nero is a weak man, he doesn’t have a strong conviction in too much, and even less he cares enough to voice a dissent for.
“What else is there to bet?” Nero gestures at the empty space in front of him. It is not a denial, rather, a question.

Kokichi’s fingers scramble against Maki’s, his lips opening and closing as he gasps for air. “W-Wow, Harukawa-chan! What’s this for?”
Maki’s grip tightens visibly. “You’re annoying.”
There is movement in the corner of Tenko’s eye, a flash of lilac, but Tenko’s gaze is locked squarely on Kokichi’s hand. It trembles, and then it travels down Maki’s own to her forearm, gripping so tight Kokichi’s middle finger and thumb entirely encircle her wrist. Before Maki can react, Kokichi wrenches her hand away and flips her elbow over his head, ducking near to the ground, knees skidding against the dusty tile. Maki gasps, her other hand flying around, but Kokichi moves too quickly, darting away from her fingertips and then slipping out the door. He blows a raspberry before disappearing down the hallway.
Eyes flashing, Maki makes to pursue him, but Kaito is there first, grabbing her arm.
