"I like it," Adam said. He threaded his hand through Ronan's hair. Once he had a good grip, he tugged.
Ronan lurched in Adam's lap, eyes closing as his head tipped back. "Fuck."
He watched Ronan's face pinken, nearly as pink as his mouth. Adam could only think of Ronan's clothes coming off, the rest of his body turning that same shade. A grin spread across his face.
"I really like it," he said.
or: After stopping the apocalypse, Ronan and Adam spend the night in Boston. Adam discovers that Ronan's hair grew while he slept. They make up for lost time.

Summary
Adam didn’t know how to feel on the way back to the Barns, to Ronan, to his home. Adam tried not to think about love, and so it crossed his mind nearly once a day.
Did he love Ronan?
Adam wanted Ronan; Adam knew Ronan. These he knew to be fact. It was easy to find evidence of his desire for Ronan, his knowledge of Ronan. Adam didn't need to look farther than the memories of this morning to see that he wanted him. More than the physical, Adam wanted his time, his attention, for Ronan to never look away. He wanted Ronan so badly that the thought of Harvard and its eight hour distance was more torturous than desirable. That was what it meant to want Ronan Lynch.
He knew Ronan too. He knew the shape of Ronan's smile and the feel of his lips against his. He knew when Ronan needed an open road and a night sky. He knew to find Ronan in his parents' room when it was three AM, to remain quiet as he wiped away his tears. He knew Ronan's anger, his loud self destructive violence and his quiet grief. And he knew, deep in his bones where vines used to live, that Ronan loved him.
But did he love Ronan? How could he? When he couldn't even point to the proof.
