When he croaked out those final few words, John Callum Mactavish truly expected them to be his last, and in his final few breaths, he wondered if he'd meet Simon Riley once again. If his life flashed before his eyes, would he be graced with precious memories alongside his favourite Lieutenant, or would he be tortured with memories of war and abuse? He can only pray it's the prior, but life has never seemed to work in his favor, so perhaps death might show its mercy this once.

It’s been four months since Soap found out exactly how bad stims affect him. Four months since the 141 had the worst scare of their life, thanks to a miscommunication of epic proportions.
Four months, and Soap is finally, finally getting his personal space back. (Sort of. Not really. He doesn’t mind all that much.)
Four months, and Simmons is casually talking to him in the mess hall after training with the rooks, mentioning something about their old TO coming back to base, when Price, Ghost, and Gaz all freeze up.
Which is a little weird, because— well, for two reasons. One, because that’s just a weird reaction for the 141 to have in general. and two, because—

A cough.
Till's gaze snaps up at the sound, caught between disbelief and the cruelty of a maybe. He waits, dares not even to breathe, terrified that even a single sound would shatter the illusion.
Another cough, so soft that Till would not have believed he heard it if he had not also noticed Ivan's shoulder jerk. For a single moment, he stays frozen in place as if in a trance. Then, the fog lifts.
"Ivan?"
