Summary
Colette can’t seem to escape all the stupid emotional walls that build up between her relationships. Grappling with confusion at the growing friendship with the rude guy up the street and suppressing taboo feelings for the writer that lives on the beach, Colette maneuvers through obstacles until she’s spread so thin it makes her question everything – even the decision to take on the life her Grandpa wanted for her. When barriers pile up to threaten the peace of the new she-farmer’s small-town life, it’s only a matter of time before Colette gets tired of dodging walls.
Colette is still dealing with - or maybe avoiding - the death of her grandfather and the controlling grip of her mother, who viewed meaningful friendships as the bottom priority for her daughter. Now that she’s on her own, Colette explores life with an open mindset, and although she has a teeny bit of a temper she’s finally formed the close-knit social circle she’d always dreamed of having. Recently, though, developments with one friend in particular make Colette question her position on relationship status, which only makes it that much harder to deny her attraction for a different man – one who may already have a lover.
