    “He got hurt,” Tommy confesses brokenly, eyes shining. He angrily swipes the side of his hand across his cheek, but Phil has already seen the tears. “They hurt him, and– and I can’t fix it.”

    A plea shatters across his face, begging and begging.

    “You can fix him,” the fledgeling sniffles. “That’s what everyone says. Vampire blood is magic.”

    “Little one,” Phil begins softly, straining forward in his chains. He doesn’t have a heartbeat, but pity pangs so strongly inside of him that it feels like one. “I can only- I can try."

    Tommy traps a vampire in order to save his brother. Phil is never one to pass up an opportunity to expand his coven - even an unusual one. (ft. vampire!phil treating an abduction as a bonding experience.)

    Tommy looks for his dad through the banister, jumping off the stairs when he spots him in the kitchen. Quickly he runs at him, tackling his legs into a hug. Phil chirps in surprise. Tommy tries his best to copy the noise, frowning when it doesn’t sound right. His dad just laughs as he ruffles his hair. Tommy has been in the habit of trying to copy the hybrid noises his family makes. Every grunt and squeak that his brothers make he tries desperately to copy. With every chirp and caw that his dad lets out, another slightly off-tune call is sure to sound out after. The doctors said it was just a strange way to connect with them all. His family has gotten used to it at this point, accepting the sweet gesture with encouragement every time.

    Tommy grows his wings and a lot of fluff and instinct ensue.

    Tommy swallows hard. “Please, Mr Watson?”

    It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that there is no friend.

    “Your desire is so intense that it pulls you under immediately. It’s addicting for you, and strong, so fucking strong it’s hilarious.” Wilbur purrs, one of his hands cupping his cheek. Tommy is frozen, locked in place, his eyes wide as he stares at Wilbur.

    “I really don’t even have to use it, do I? To get you to bend to my will. All it takes is a gentle, loving touch and your already falling under my natural charm.” Wilbur hums, pressing his face back against his neck.

    Or Tommy is a god who had been trapped away for centuries, waiting for the day to be rescued. Wilbur is the one who finds him.
