Summary
For as long as Rolan could remember, what he wanted most in the world was to be a great wizard. When his magical talents were finally recognized, when he was as famous as Elminster himself, he would prove that Cal and Lia hadn’t made a mistake by calling him ‘big brother’, and they would never struggle or want for anything ever again.
Then he met Tavanah: a half-elf rogue from Baldur’s Gate. She was confident, competent, and infuriatingly calm, and Rolan did not like her.
But as he watched Tav oh-so-coolly saving lives from the Emerald Grove to Moonrise Towers and all the way to Baldur’s Gate, he realized that there was more to life than proving to the world that you were the best.
