Summary
A throaty squawk sounded above his head, and he saw the vague silhouette of a crow in the little moonlight that wasn’t choked by the clouds and snow. He saw another, then another, and stopped moving. The crows circled and grew louder.
They were leading it to him.
He rasped out another breath, then inhaled sharply through his nose, smelling blood. Somehow, he knew some of it wasn’t his.
