"Look, Minster, buddy, pal," Kez begins, "I'm not gonna be all, 'Oh my goodness, I totally didn't see this coming, woe, my world is collapsing!' Like, yeah, you got the same birthday and I know people are like 'awww, they're brothers by choice.’ But nah, man, when I met you guys it was like I could cut that sexual tension with a knife. Almost did, actually! You were both so obvious, you deserved a good shanking."
Min-Gi cringes for a multitude of reasons. "Thanks for not doing that."
Kez flaps a hand. "Case in point: I had a feeling this was gonna happen, so I don’t think any less of either of you for doing...uh, the do? I’m just flattered you told me, ‘specially since it’s bugging you so bad.”
“But what do I do?”
“Uhhh talk to him?”
The guttural noise Min lets out is a mix between a cackle and a sputter. It turns a few heads.
Kez’s brows rise. “Wow, okay. Glad my stand-up’s still intact, but I didn’t realize I was selling out Madison Square with that one.”
min-gi wakes up, finds a letter, and it gets worse.

A new problem arises, leaving the two musicians back on the train. Old problems are addressed, and new ones test their relationship and how they feel about each other more than ever.

Summary
This series is gonna be some long-ass slowburn about the pressures and communication issues in Ryan and Min-Gi's lives throughout the early years of Chicken Choice Judy, ultimately leading to (spoilers) them ending back on the train. Eventually. When, exactly? Wouldn't you like to know! Then some stuff will happen on the train, presumably.
In the meantime, enjoy a lot of angst, hurt-comfort, and complicated emotional entanglements.
CONTENT WARNINGS for more adult themes than the show's explored previously, including adult sexuality discussion (and, eventually, some mild descriptions of actual acts), the HIV/AIDs crisis, internalized homophobia and fear of societal rejection, maybe some drugs and alcohol references, and basically anything else you can expect a pair of 20something bandmates to be described as having done in a scandalous music career biopic documentary.

Summary
Ryan and Min, after getting off the train, attempt to kickstart their careers. They do. Good for them. They also fall in love and stuff. But you’ve read a thousand and one fics about that. What about AFTER? When they tour Canada and the US (for real, this time! Like in sports stadiums!) along with the release of quite a few albums, all while attempting to keep their relationship between themselves. And near the end they adopt a kid. Well, adopt isn’t quite the right word for it? Stop questioning me you’ll find out
Part of The Crowd’s universe, but because this all takes place before that and really just includes one or two characters from there, so you don’t HAVE to read it. I mean, I’d recommend it, but that’s up to you.
Title’s from the song Iris by The Goo-Goo Dolls. It was either that or “Post Train (To Nowhere).”

Ryan raises his arms defensively. “Hey, I didn’t think we’d actually win! I thought it would be pretty funny if I entered us as a joke, but then I completely forgot about it until they sent an email telling me that we’ve won an all expenses paid, weekend-long couple’s trip to some swanky beach resort.”-
[aka: the fake dating au in which ryan signs them up for a free couple’s vacation, accidentally wins it, and has to spend the entire weekend as a “couple” with min-gi. it really isn’t so bad, but things can get complicated when feelings start to get in the way – and they find themselves aching for the real thing.]

Well, up until some floating, talking bell showed up in his apartment. The one that said she needed Min-Gi to do something really important, but she couldn't remember what it was?

“Now, now,” Snufkin told himself. “It could be a coincidence…”
A coincidence, that a poem with the exact same title and opening lines as his own work had made its way to publication? Unlikely.
Snufkin didn’t have his original copy to compare the stolen poem against. He only enjoyed writing poetry. Afterwards, he never really wanted to revisit it or share it. He just left the old notebook behind somewhere and procured a new one, ready to start again.
There was no denying the familiarity, though. After hearing it in Moominpappa’s voice, he couldn’t remember when or where he penned it, but the work was certainly his.
That didn’t solve the issue of how this De Hemulton fellow had come to claim it as his own, or why.
