Summary
“What are you celebrating?”
Buck’s voice made Eddie spin around with wide eyes, clamping his mouth shut. He probably looked like a deer caught in headlights.
Buck raised a questioning eyebrow at him, and Eddie opened his mouth to say something, except he didn’t know what, because he couldn’t exactly tell Buck that the reason for their celebration was the death of his ex-boyfriend.
And, listen. Eddie has no clue why his following response was the one to tumble out of his mouth. Maybe because he was thinking about Tommy, his brain was making the connection to ‘gay.’ He really has no other explanation.
“My coming out.”
Or: How Eddie celebrating Tommy's death leads to him having to 'pretend' to be gay.

Summary
For a moment, Eddie is quiet.
He stares. Blinks. Stares some more, his mouth opening and closing around nothing.
And then all at once, he zeroes in on the photo collage across the room, and his body goes completely still.
They’re all couples. Happy, blissful, newly married couples, still in their suits and long white dresses, holding each other close beneath the familiar branches of a willow tree. The same branches billowing in the wind outside Eddie’s bedroom window.
A wedding venue. He woke up in a wedding venue.
His wedding venue.
or: Eddie wakes up on the morning of his and Buck’s wedding. Except, Eddie is straight, and him and Buck aren’t together.

Summary
“You’re bi?” Adriana gasps. Because, for all the things Eddie drunkenly told her about Buck last night, that little nugget of information had not been included. “Wow,” she breathes. “Wow, wow, wow. That’s - - sorry, that’s great. Isn’t that great, Eddie?”
Eddie, who had confessed his giant gay crush to her like it was a terminal diagnosis, kicks her under the table. “Sure is.”
Or, Adriana is in town for New Year's, and it's the best decision of her gossip-loving life.

Summary
Buck excavates the things Eddie left behind, clinging to any pieces of his best friend he can find. Shoved in the back of his bedroom closet, he finds a nondescript box full of 2018 Shannon—photos, jewelry, a Christmas ornament, and, strangely, a thumbdrive.
With only Eddie’s ghost for company in the house Buck is haunting, what’s a little privacy violation between friends? And masturbation. So much masturbation.
