Summary
Apologizing is scary. Receiving forgiveness is even scarier.
✧ ✧ ✧
Pomni groans in frustration, finally hitting her breaking point. "UGH! Jax, I'm serious!"
The snarky attitude drops once more, unable to contain the mess of conflicting energies that's bursting through his seams. He shouts, voice straining, "Yeah, well so am I!"
"Then will you just suck it up and take my forgiveness?!"
"I CAN'T!"
The room is too small for it to echo. She swears she hears the reverb of his defenses shattering anyway.What a mess… A swell of sympathy grabs cloyingly at her digital heart. Fool, her rational inner voice taunts. Unfortunately for her, it's not strong enough to sway her. She has to help him somehow.
"...How about I do it for you?"
Jax looks up at her, confused. "Huh? Do what?"
"Make you take it." -

Summary
He can be the big brother for once, for someone. Even someone like her.
He latches onto the feeling. Maybe having this shared experience isn't so bad.
Maybe this means he doesn't have to be a monster after all... Or if he is, at least she'll be there with him. A pair of not-quite-monsters in a not-quite-normal world. -

Summary
[both characters are aged up to 16, informed, and mutually consenting]
------------------------Suddenly it’s like Mike’s field of vision narrows on all sides, because he’s physically unable to focus on anything but her, right here, so close... The dim glow of the lamp on the bedside table behind her traces the shape of her cheek and jaw and neck. Soft eyelashes flutter as she lifts her gaze back up to meet his. Her eyes are apologetic but pleading, embarrassed but wanting, and as usual she is able to say so many things in only a few words.
“Is it okay?” El asks in a whisper.
It takes a second to process, but he knows what she’s asking. Her body radiates warmth. She’s trembling ever so slightly, making a stray lock of damp hair quiver against her cheek. Her usually-sharp eyes have melted into pools of chocolate brown and he feels as though if he stares into them too long he’d drown. She waits on bated breath for an answer. Is it okay that I want you?

Summary
He’s hurting again. But a different kind of hurt… Liking boys makes him scared. Liking Mike makes him sad. Not an angry kind of sad. A defeated sad. A lonely, surrendering kind of sad. Not fair, she thinks. It’s not fair for Will to be sad like this when Liking someone is supposed to be a happy feeling. Surely there’s a way for them all to be happy… some kind of compromise...
He’s about to choke down this stupid crush of his like a bitter spoonful of medicine when she suddenly slips her hands back into his, blinking wide eyes up at him, a bright sort of twinkle shining in them like she’s just discovered the most brilliant idea. “We could both have Mike.”

Summary
El ducks her head in shame. "I... want to kiss you... more..." And you didn't like that last time...
Somehow this makes all the uneasy tension wound up inside Mike simply fall away, though. With a hopeful tone, he says, "You do?"
She shakes her head, shrinking in on herself and hugging her arms, "But last time you said 'stop', more was too much... I scared you..."
Mike's entire body relaxes and he lets out a short, relieved laugh. "El, it's okay. That was one time... I was just... nervous, okay? It wasn't your fault. Hey," he takes her hand and leans close again to murmur, "I'm not afraid of you."
A warm glow comes back to her cheeks. She looks up at him, eyes shimmering with curiosity and adoration, and Mike is internally punching himself for inadvertently convincing her that he would reject her affections. "You can... y’know... do whatever, anything you like..." his voice wavers awkwardly. But he takes a deep breath and digs up some confidence. "I... want you to."

Summary
Another cliché-ass "boy climbs in through girl's bedroom window and sappy teen romance happens" scenario that I'm sure everybody's already done, but in my defense the whole show is built on 80s movie clichés anyway
~~~
El stared admiringly down at the bracelet, a smile plastered on her face. Her name looked so much more beautiful when it's spelled in letters. "Pretty..." she murmured.
Mike perked up a bit. "Yeah? You think so?"
She beamed at him. "Really pretty."
He was making that glowing face again. "I can put it on for you, here..." Mike held her left hand up gently while he hooked the chain around her wrist, not too tight but tight enough to not slide right down to her elbow. The charms twinkled there, dangling right overtop of the ink digits branded into her skin. "011", the numbers that were always there, that identified what she was for so long, hidden behind sparkling silver letters that spelled "EL", her name, the name Mike had given to her, the name that defined who she was. It was perfect.
