Summary
In order to wage war against his brother Prince Jin seeks aid from the Demon Chief of Qingya Mountain, an immortal known for commanding legions of ghosts and devils and terrorizing the human world. To test Prince Jin's commitment the Master of Qingya demands the sacrifice of someone invaluable, of royal blood, and possessing great beauty. Zhou Zishu answers this demand. It does not go as he expects.
Pressed into becoming the Demon Lord's bride, Zhou Zishu is determined to make this wrinkle work to his advantage in order to eliminate the threat Qingya and the ghosts pose to all humans. This proves to be easier said than done when he finds himself assigned the enigmatic Wen Kexing as a body guard; between warming his new husband's bed at night and dealing with the clingy Wen Kexing during the day, Zhou Zishu is left little time to learn of Qingya and the potential weaknesses of it's master.

I commanded my crew at your request, never with any regrets, showing no mercy to those in our way” His hands tightened on the cloth of his trousers, fingers clenching painfully in the fabric.
“All I know is fighting, as it is all I’ve ever done since joining the company as a teenager. I’m grateful for all the years in your service but now-” Zhou Zishu lowered his gaze, expression pained as he spoke the next string of words. “Now they’re all gone and I’m a Captain without a crew.”

Summary
If he bathed in the blood of those he’s killed, he would have drowned long ago. Maybe he was still drowning even after all these years. Choking on the blood of the dead, his lungs burning for air. It was only when he stepped out from the council room with seven irreversible runes on his chest that he felt he could breathe again. Funny how only by becoming a dying man could he feel alive again.
Alternate summary: Zhou Zishu leaves the Window of Heaven with the Seven Runes of Torment on his chest but finds himself dragged back into the issues of shadowhunters and downworlders by a beautiful fan wielding warlock and a doe eyed nephilim (Shadowhunterss AU! sort of)
