“What the hell is your problem?” Megumi asked, planting his other hand on the bed beside Yuuji’s shoulder.
Yuuji looked up at the other boy, at his blue eyes and his messy hair falling into them and the way his lower lip was just slightly wet.
“I really want you to kiss me, Fushiguro,” he said, plainly.
He watched Megumi’s expression freeze and felt his body tense. Megumi’s eyes searched his face again, always mistrusting, but Yuuji didn’t have a scrap of dishonesty in him anymore.
“Oh,” Megumi said, more of a breath than a word. His grip on Yuuji’s wrist was starting to hurt.
“C’mon don’t chicken out—”

Summary
Yuuji laughed again, sliding lower so his head was on Megumi’s pillow. “What’s it about?” he asked, opening the book and flipping through the pages.
“It’s a murder mystery. In Poland.” Megumi moved to lie on his side facing Yuuji, his back pressed flat to the wall behind him. The bed was too small for both of them but Megumi didn’t mind the proximity. Yuuji had a line of dark hair that went up from the waistband of his pajama pants over his belly button and almost reaching his chest. Megumi couldn’t remember if he’d had it before.
“Poland?” Yuuji frowned at the book.
Megumi watched his face, the dip of his cupid’s bow flattening as he pursed his lips.
“Read it to me,” Yuuji said, snapping the book shut and holding it across his chest toward Megumi.

“You drive me crazy, Tongari,” Nick whispered, eyes searching Vash’s face for something, for permission, for a reflection of his own desire that was eating him from the inside out.
Vash’s smile was crooked now, somehow open and inscrutable at the same time. “What are you going to do about it?”
Nick swallowed, the tension between them as palpable as the new sunlight warming his damp shoulders. Vash was so beautiful. He was everything and he was impossible, this was impossible—

Was it too on the nose to say she was glacial? That she was like an alpine lake, cold and still, onto which Enji skipped the stones of his emotions only to watch them sink wordlessly into the dark?
She hadn’t always been like this. But, he supposed, he hadn’t always been the way he was either. This had felt hopeful, once. As if, maybe, they could beat the odds despite being in a marriage neither of them particularly wanted. He’d felt what he thought was love, or at least camaraderie, between them when Touya was born. And Fuyumi. But now, he wasn’t sure what that had been, if anything.
