The ring slides slowly down the slender finger. It goes easily until the final knuckle, catching slightly. Chi Cheng pushes once. twice. Until it glides past, sitting secure at the base of Suowei’s finger. He twists the ring until the design rests perfectly, black diamond catching in the moonlight.
And Suowei sleeps, chest rising evenly, long lashes kissing against his cheeks as he dreams on.
