Summary
Giorno has been locked away in a tower since he was captured as a baby by a cold hearted man doomed to live forever until he has learned his lesson named Dio Brando. His magical, long golden blonde hair has the power to provide eternal youth and heal what's been hurt, and the wicked Dio uses this power to keep himself young for as long as he possibly can, avoiding his true fate. On his 18th birthday, Giorno becomes overwhelmingly curious about the outside world and what it holds, so when a rogue thief named "Purple Haze" uses his tower as a hiding place, Giorno plots his escape.

The shape of it was humanoid: a monstrously large silhouette, stretching up to the ceiling, whose deep black outlines hinted at massive, engorged muscles, warped with overbearing strength. Its face, veiled in shadow and crowned with shadowed spires, stared down at him from above. Giorno could just make out two red pinpricks of eyes, glinting out of the black. Watching him.
It wasn’t real, Giorno repeated to himself. It couldn’t hurt him.
(Giorno meets his father for the first time, under rather unusual circumstances.)
