“Martyn.” Ren’s hair, nearly more grey than brown now, was falling into his face. They’d been out of the arena for a long time.
“What’s up?” Martyn loved him, loved the way he said his name with his ar halfway to ah, loved the lines of his face and the color of his age, loved the perk of his ears and the rapid whipping of his tail.
Ren’s gaze was like sunlight. “I want to worship you.”
“Oh,” Martyn whispered.

Summary
It's like a frog is caught in Makoto's throat. She doesn't want to worry Yuzuki, or make her think she's mad at her. She really isn't. It's just that it's difficult to form words—when Yuzuki's nails tend to graze the nape of her neck like this, and they sit so close on her bed, and Yuzuki handles her hair with just the right amount of pressure, pulling it taut but loose enough that she wouldn't get a headache.
And God, Makoto likes having her hair played with. Only if it's Yuzuki, though, if she's being honest.
Makoto realizes that she is the frog caught in her own throat.
