Summary
Hermie keeps finding notes and gifts in his locker, and Normal says it isn't him. Now Hermie's having a hell of a time trying to figure out who would be doing all this strangely cute stuff for him, and it's not helping him hate the holidays any less.
Or, Hermie misses the importance of emphasis when it comes to the following statement: Normal didn't make the card.

Summary
It's funny when Hermie messes up. People laugh. People complain, too, but they laugh. Can't play soccer, can't avoid melted cheese and burns, can't really help stop the apocalypse, but at least he can make people laugh.
(He was strangely good with astrophysics. He could act and lie on everyone's behalf. He was a joke made to make people laugh.)
It's too quiet.

Normal does the thing where he accidentally hurts Hermie's feelings, and Hermie makes him work for forgiveness. Just like always.
(loosely based on the stand-up ep where normal tears hermie to shreds)

Summary
A life story doesn't exist without foundation and scaffolding, and Hermie's life is one constantly in need of a little extra support. Events shared between him and Normal that he tucks away for safe keeping, the tidbits of his family's lives that intersect with his own, the truth about his biological parents - he can't possibly fit all of that into a single play, no matter how many acts and musical numbers he stuffs into the first draft.

Summary
When his mid-teenage-life crisis hits, Hermie copes by writing a musical. His magnum opus. Hermie the Worthy will take on every trial and tribulation he encounters and come out victorious, because quite frankly, the real Hermie doesn't feel strong enough.
The real Hermie's stressed, depressed, and unimpressed with the direction his life has taken. His adoptive fathers added a third person to the mix (without even asking his opinion), that woman had a baby (without asking), and and he's beginning to feel unwelcome in his own home. He's noticed at school in all the wrong ways, he's crushing on two people at once, he doesn't feel comfortable in his own skin... and now that he's a junior at San Dimas High, everyone (mainly his guidance counselor and his inner critic) says he's supposed to have himself and his life all figured out. Hilarious.
Despite all of that, Normal still wants him. Hopefully that's enough to keep the real Hermie moving forward.
(hated the title and still do)

“You have nothing to cry about. You’re fed, you’re held, you have a mother who faithfully tends you and a father to watch over you both.”
They knew it was a risk. Autumn barely survived labor. Bloody reels of film choked her shaking thighs. And Barry is trying, trying to see how they were rewarded with such a child so unfit.
“What is wrong with you?”

Summary
You were knee deep in the murky water of your Father’s crawfish pond when you met your husband. He was short, scrawny, and he squinted down at you like you were nothing. You hated him immediately.
