    Summary

The sixth time, Ray fills in the end of one of Pete’s jokes and Hank Olson says, “Do you two know each other?”

“Yeah,” Pete says, grinning at Ray, watching him flush. “We go way back.”

Or, the road doesn't want 50 people dead on it each year. This creates a great deal of trouble for the boys it decides can stop that.

    Summary

Pale, thin scars mark Gary’s arm from his wrist to halfway up his bicep. Some are in straight, almost neat lines, one right after the other, while some of them crisscross each other with a jagged ferocity. Overall, there’s more raised masses of tissue than unmarked skin. There’s no need to ask what caused them, and there’s no way Collie ever would. It’s obvious.

“Well?” Gary snaps, apparently thinking Collie’s been silent for too long. “Can you fix this or not?”

Or: Gary Barkovitch walks into Collie Parker's tattoo shop looking for a scar coverup, and ends up becoming much more than just a client.

    Summary

    He remembered the gunshot.

He remembered dying. He had died, he was sure of it. How was this possible? Was this his life rewinding itself, some montage before his death?
But it didn’t feel like a memory. It looked so real. He was there.

Then, the guards barked their orders. The Major gave his speech. And the Walk began, exactly like it did before.

    What the fuck?

Stuck in a time loop, Collie Parker didn’t expect to find himself watching Gary Barkovitch. He definitely didn’t expect Gary to look back.
