Summary
There was a careful balance in their relationship, having long pushed past the boundaries of more carnal desires, but toeing a careful line around their more vulnerable parts. Neither wanted to put more meaning if there was none between them, but the both of them were lonely souls, with only each other to turn to — maybe it was natural they started lowering those impenetrable walls around each other.
He Xuan feels insecure in itself, finding Hua Cheng to shoulder that insecurity with it. Boundaries that were already unstable find themselves very quickly torn down, alongside robes and flesh.

Summary
The den was rambunctious as usual, cheers and yells bouncing off the walls, all in its usual state of affairs. The only thing out of place was the red curtains that usually concealed where the city master sat when he bothered to join them were tied back, letting any curious ghost turn their gaze towards the throne.
Which many did, watching Hua Cheng sit with his legs spread, giving room for the ghost kneeling between them, its head cradled against his thigh.Hua Cheng ensures He Xuan learns its lesson on challenging him when it thinks he won't remember, making it eat its words that he'd be too jealous to let anyone else touch it.
