Gaius was offered candy if he agreed to join, Sumia is excited by the prospect of meeting her hero, Cordelia wants to keep an eye on everyone, and Lon'qu has his personal reasons. Olivia joins because she is hoping to see more of the man underneath Henry's perpetual smile, having struggled to do so through their relationship.
When the seance is performed, things do not go as planned. And Henry is forced to confront his past sooner than he anticipated.
