Summary
In truth, no one expected Roronoa Zoro to return to Hogwarts a year after the war. Luffy didn’t, but that was to be expected—why would the Savior of the Wizarding World go back to school? Somehow, Sanji assumed that Zoro would follow Luffy’s lead, that at least one of the famous Romance Dawn trio would leave with Luffy, but he’d been wrong.
Even when they were younger, Sanji could never make heads or tails of what was going on in Zoro’s brain.
His Slytherin-green necktie hangs askew from his neck, and his lone silver eye glints in the warm orange candlelight. Sanji’s mouth goes familiarly dry.
In that second, Zoro meets Sanji’s gaze. Sanji’s neck cracks as he jerks his head to the side, feeling the tingle of his blood rising to his face.
Alternatively: An argument. A dance. A war. Zoro and Sanji, throughout the years.

Summary
Stealth Black cocks his head slowly, as if his head rests on a hinge instead of a neck with working joints.
“Asura,” he drawls out slowly. Sitting on top of the remains of the crumbled building, legs crossed, grey eye a flint of ice, he looks like the usurper of a toppled kingdom. He isn’t wearing his mask or his signature glasses. His black hair shines orange from the light of the building fire, the one that he set still burning behind him. “I missed you.”
It’s a lie. Stealth Black is not capable of missing anybody or anything. Zoro glowers at him, unsheathing two of his swords as Kitetsu and Enma howl for blood. Stealth Black’s grin grows sharper.
“Fantastic. I do love it when you try to kill me,” he murmurs, more to himself than Zoro. “It makes me almost feel something.”
Alternatively: Some people are monsters by choice and others were created that way. They all wear human skins but perhaps not all of them have human hearts.

Summary
Moonlight seeps through the window panes. Sanji soaks in the slope of Zoro’s jaw, his handsome bloodied face, and the tender look residing in his remaining eye. While he’s still staring, Zoro’s hand reaches out and carefully tucks a strand of Sanji’s hair behind his ear. Sanji can feel himself soften under Zoro’s touch, becoming less than divine.
What a dangerous thing it is, to give someone your heart.
Alternatively: In another life, they live in a small house by the sea, together and away from the war. Five scenes between a general and the god who loved him, and one where love is all that remains.

Summary
“You know none of this is true, right?” The shitty hunter soaks in the tacky decor of the coffee shop with visible distaste.“What?”
“Vamps don’t actually turn into bats,” he huffs, poking at a dangling plastic decoration. “And they sure as hell don’t wear capes, either. They look just like any average person. That’s what makes them so dangerous.”
“Oh. I had no idea,” lies Sanji, who is most definitely an average person and not a vampire. He shoots the mosshead his best customer service smile, the one that screams sir, this is just an innocent local business with no affiliation to vampires, the Easter Bunny, or Santa Claus. “Can I get you anything?”
Alternatively: In this economy, you gotta do what you gotta do. Some people hunt rogue vampires. Others run coffee shops that cater specifically to their fellow creatures of the night, and try their best not to get staked through the heart (or fall in love).

Summary
There are three things that you know like the back of your hand. The first is that you are determined to fulfill your childhood dream of becoming World Champion. The second is that you need to beat the current Champion to take the title, and the third is that no one knows where Roronoa Zoro has disappeared to.(Fourth: you’ll be the one to find him and finally bring him back home. At least, that’s what the blonde daycare worker who’s decided to accompany you on your journey seems to think.)
Alternatively: No one tells you that once you’ve reached the summit, there’s nowhere to climb but down.

“What are you going to tell them?”“We’re friends with benefits,” Nami says with a straight face. Sanji chokes on his own spit and starts coughing violently. “Except the benefit is friendship.”
“So, friends. You’re literally just friends,” Usopp monotones flatly from his room.
Alternatively: During college, you learn that not everything is as it appears. Sanji is in love with Zoro, Zoro is dating Hiyori, and Nami accidentally ends up a master wingwoman by sorta kinda maybe platonically taking Sanji off the dating market.

Summary
A voicemail from an unknown number, recorded at 3:17 AM during Zoro’s layover flight. The number will be disconnected by the time Zoro notices and tries to call back. The transcription: Hey. It’s me. Listen, I’ve got to go. Don’t you dare try to fucking follow me, you lughead. I’m not sure if I’ll come back anytime soon. Tell Luffy that I’m sorry but this is something that I have to do. I—
A self-deprecating huff of laughter as Sanji cuts himself off. Fuck. Um, keep the others safe, yeah? I won’t be using the Los Angeles safehouse anymore, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use it. God knows how many times you’ve nearly bled out on that couch.
Another pause, followed by weary exhale that Zoro feels in his bones. And Zoro, I—
Whatever Sanji's trying to say gets stuck in his throat again, sticky and tar-like. It's—never mind. Take care of yourself, mosshead.
The voicemail ends there.
Alternatively: do you have to know someone in their entirety to love them unconditionally?

Summary
It doesn’t take much detective work for Issei to figure out who set the fire alarm off. As the sirens within the dorm twirl and howl, casting crimson light on the snow, they catch on the boy’s face and cast him in hues of fire alarm red. His smile nearly splits his face in two, and his teeth gleam in the light. There’s something mesmerizing about it, something morbidly beautiful. Issei is studying forensics and has an internship at a mortuary, so he considers himself an expert in the field of the morbidly beautiful.
Issei sees this boy with his pink-brown hair and wild smile and thinks that he could set fire alarms off with him. He sees this boy and thinks that they could grab Starbucks at three in the morning, talking about everything and nothing.
Matsukawa Issei is not a god or an idol or a shining star in the sky. He is just boy. A story on the small things that love has to offer and what it means to just be.
