I was skeptical about this at first--but it works! It works bloody brilliantly! Jaime still holds his 'Lion of Lannister' snark (and the introspection on him is spot-on), and Lyanna's characterization in the fic is just as I'd always imagined it to be in writing. Reading anything about Jaime without Cersei is always a like healthy breath of fresh air, and this fic has delivered: giving me the same pleasure as that. Lovely canon divergence all-in-all (and the ship works: imagine the chemistry, the sharp back-and-forth, and the hours spent together riding and training).

Wonderfully written in seven parts: melancholy, powerful, and hopeful. The descriptions are well-picked and bring it perfectly to life, and the interactions between Jon, Dany and Sansa are nicely woven in between. (+ points for Jon and Dany banding together so brokenly. Also + points for Queen in the North Sansa--and for her knowing Dothraki)!

Summary
Still unmarried and unbetrothed, Prince Rhaegar Targaryen is urged to find a bride at the tourney at Harrenhal. With King Aerys growing more unhinged as each day passes, the Dragon Prince must secure his line in order to overthrow the Mad King.
Lyanna Stark is chosen to wed the prince, much to her displeasure, and must leave the North to play princess with the dragons. But she quickly learns that the fire burns deadly in the royal family, and winter has no place in King's Landing.
Hell, she finds, is empty and all the devils are at Court.

Incredibly gripping, especially when it comes to the writer's take on the dynamics of Aegon's court, and of course the relationships between Aegon and Sansa and Jon and Sansa. Characters are well-fleshed out, and writing on Post-Winter Westeros is nice and still as brutal as GRRM's!
