Leehan raises a brow. “What type of bet are we talking about?”
“I can’t give you time, but I bet you to give me five reasons to stay here more than a year. To take root and become a flower or whatever the hell you said,” he moves his fingers nonchalantly, looking at something beyond Leehan – anything other than the god-like face in front of him.
“Five reasons?” Leehan asks, Taesan nods. A smile unfurls at the corner of Leehan’s lips, almost as if he’s already tasting victory before even knowing where he’s getting into. “That will be a piece of cake.”
Taesan never stays in a planet more than a year, but Leehan is set on changing his mind. With a bet put between the strange friendship they develop in the months he spends in the planet, Taesan can't help but question and face things that he never did before in his life — and fall in love with Leehan in the process.

It's also the amount of time it takes for Jaehyun’s bag to drop to the floor with a dull thud, for the expression on his face to shift from shock to disbelief to blatant rage, and for Taesan to realize that he is ultimately, incredibly, undeniably fucked for the rest of his senior year.
"You," is the first word Jaehyun spits out through gritted teeth, and it shouldn't sting this much, Taesan knows, especially when it's his fault. Jaehyun raises an accusing finger and nearly buries knives into Taesan’s skin with his glare. "You– You're… what the fuck, Taesan?"
"Yeah." Taesan swallows thickly and somehow manages to hold his heart high enough for it to not drop and crash onto the floor. "Hey, Jaehyun."
(Being roommates with a certain Myung Jaehyun would be so much easier if he wasn’t Taesan’s ex-best friend.)
