Summary
Prime chuckled, leaning over to press a small bandaid over the fresh stitches. Jason dropped the mirror into his lap, eyes falling naturally. He watched Prime’s concentrated face, his tongue sticking out in the corner of his mouth.
“Y’know, you’ve got pretty gentle hands for such a big klutz, C,” Jason said. He meant it as a joke, but his voice came out quiet in the space between them.
Jason needed a hand getting patched up, but in the end, he wasn’t the one that needed helping.

Jason makes his way angrily to his guns. This really isn't something to fret about. He feels idiotic for feeling this way. Prime is Metropolis's newest Superman. Or stand-in. Sidekick? Whatever. Fact is, Jason tells himself, furiously rubbing his Sig Sauer, that Prime needs to act this way. He's Superboy, for god's sake! What else is he supposed to do? Scowl at civilians? Jason's being an idiot.

The next time Prime flirts with a terrorist subordinate, Jason shoots the man in his face.
Prime freezes mid-monologue, face half covered in gory splatter. "Oh," he exhales.
Yeah. Oh.or: Jason Todd is not jealous. Definitely not. Never was, never will be. Nope.

Summary
There was a sacrament in the simplest acts of being loved, Jason thought, in the breaking of bread and the passing of a cup from hand to hand, in the ancient promise that a body might be given and received, that the divine might be made flesh and offered to the hungry. She had always imagined such things happening beneath vaulted ceilings, amid candlelight and incense, spoken in a language older than the mouths that carried it. She had never considered that they might happen here, with the television murmuring behind them and a discarded packet of chips on the coffee table, with Clark's knee pressed against hers and laughter still trembling at the corners of her mouth. No choir had ever sounded so sweet as Clark laughing beside her. No altar had seemed so holy as the small, warm space between their bodies, where neither of them were inclined to retreat.
The dead aren't meant to come home. Neither, Jason had thought, was she meant to have a home to return to.
