Summary
Robin is used to Batman shouting at him. Mistakes happen, and he's not always the most careful, but it's expected. It's his job, even if it hurts Robin a little to look at Batman for the rest of the patrol — that's his boss. He gets over it.
But this is the first time Bruce Wayne has raised his voice at Jason, and Jason's entire world is collapsing on top of him.

Summary
"How old are you anyway?"
Bruce smirks a little, “Pretty old.”
“How old am I?” Dick rephrases the question. Realistically, given the lines on Bruce's face and the grey in his hair, he has to be more than a decade or two in the future. But, well, Dick's still reeling from being twelve. He can't begin to imagine a world where there's anything past tomorrow.
Bruce's smirk sinks a little, but not quite to a frown. It's a distant smile, fighting through the shadows of whatever it is Bruce sees when he looks down at him. In a quiet, mournful tone, he says, “Not that old. Not old at all.”
(A young Robin and Nightwing swap places; Batman is always the constant.)

Summary
Bruce realises it then with a sudden startle, all the anger and frustration that had been building up over the last couple days freezing under his skin, blood cold.
"You're trying to make me angry…" Bruce carefully says out loud, all the pieces of the puzzle finally coming together, watching the way Jason's shoulders tense at the shift in tone from angry to a calculative calmness, "On purpose?"
Jason's previous expression, one filled with twisted amusement at Bruce's apparent annoyance is immediately replaced with something tragic. His blue eyes grow wide and fearful, and Bruce watches in delayed understanding as the boy takes a fearful step back.
(Jason's change in behavior is cause for concern. Fortunately, Bruce is a pretty good detective — most of the time.)

Summary
Dick had started to grow used to the hazy figure in his room. It always hung close to the edges of his vision, slightly see-through and fuzzy in a way that, at first glance, one could imagine it was really there. The kind of sight you’d easily shrug off as seeing things, looking back and finding the space empty.
The only difference? It was still there.
--
Jason dies, Dick starts having hallucinations, and Tim is trying his best.
