“Aziraphale,” Crowley manages after a long moment. “Did you… did you steal a baby?”
A pause, then a hushed, sheepish, “yes.”
“Aziraphale,” he says again. “Did you steal the baby?”
This time, the answer comes in a wail, “yes!”

Summary
Eleven years ago, the Antichrist was born. Set to bring upon the end of the world, the baby was to be delivered to an order of satanic nuns by the demon Crowley. The baby would then be raised by a human family, come into his powers upon his eleventh birthday, and the Earth would end in fire and brimstone.
And that is what happened.
Or, what everyone believed had happened.
In reality, Crowley was a little sick of things ending in fire and brimstone, and thought the idea of the Earth going down like a lead balloon to be a bad one indeed. His partner, the angel Aziraphale, also agreed. Now eleven years since, Adam C. Fell is just about to celebrate his birthday, and he doesn’t really want Armageddon to happen. It would be a shame if the world ended, and if he is the one who has to stop himself from doing so, then so be it.
But these types of things are never quite that simple, and with so many other players in this ineffable game running about, things won’t go exactly as planned. That’s alright, I suppose. You have to work with what you got.

Summary
Eight months after the world has not ended, an argument drives angel and demon apart. Crowley flees south, to sulk. Aziraphale follows, a week later, hoping to clear the air.
Set along a coast they have known for six thousand years, the pair have to confront some things they have spent a lifetime repressing and figure out if this new world has space for ‘them’ in it.

“Are you alright? What’s all this about then?”
“Ah. Well. I might have slipped.”
“Slipped?”
“Took a bit of a tumble, I’m afraid,” Aziraphale said. “But, well. What’s done is done.”
“What’s done - ?”
“Now that I’m no longer beholden to a rather arbitrary moral code, I have to ask: Do you pay taxes? Actually, more importantly, do you think I can stop paying taxes now? That seems like a sufficiently demonic thing to do. Refusing to do my civic duty and whatnot. Quite devious, I’d argue.”
This was, in hindsight, not the most sensitive way of breaking the news.

Crowley was still as stone beside him. His ears were cherry-red. “So...if we pretend we’re in a relationship, we’ll be safe.”
“I believe so.”
“And that would, that would involve, what?” he spoke hesitantly, softly. “Holding your hand, telling you that you mean a lot to me, kissing you for them to see?”
Two great hands were constricting Aziraphale’s lungs. He fought back an undignified wheeze. “Yes, I think so.”
“I can do that,” he croaked.

In a panic, Aziraphale tells the archangels he survived hellfire due to his soul mixing with Crowley's because they're in a romantic and sexual relationship. They want him to prove it. Cue a fake relationship.Series
