Summary
If there was one constant in the universe, it was the Master trying desperately to get the Doctor’s attention with his outrageous schemes. This scheme though seemed to take on a life of its own, entirely outside of its effect on the Doctor. And though the Doctor wouldn’t admit it, he was feeling quite miffed at the neglect.

Summary
It’s a familiar feeling, the Doctor falling apart in his arms. The Master covets it each time he feels the degradation of his posture, the rattle of his breaths. He’s well used to being the only thing keeping the Doctor together — shoving the puzzle pieces of his fragile sense of self back with the edges frayed and overlapping. They both sacrifice parts of themselves in the process, but it’s never felt like a loss.
“Please,” the Doctor mouths against his throat.
The Master swallows tightly and yanks him away by the collar of his jacket. “I won’t be gentle,” he says, but they both know nothing else is possible between them. “I won’t stop,” he warns, but they both know neither of them want that.
The Confession Dial was unexpected. The Doctor's reaction to it flying through the TARDIS doors was not. He wanders the halls of the closest thing he has to home, and he falls into the brutal arms of the closest person he has to home. The person who is his home, built on a foundation of grief and thorns.

the master has a paradox machine, and he'd be remiss not to put it to further use. his own lap is quite comfortable, he's coming to terms with the rather whimsical reappearance of his old grooming choices, and his plan is going off without a hitch.
the doctor feels like the mouse caught between two alleycats, and his fate is sealed in a single word.

His retirement may be well-earned, but it's not all the Doctor hoped it would be. He's restless, always looking behind his back, like the universe is waiting, plotting what blow to land him next.
It doesn't take too long for the other shoe to drop.
While he's trying to recover from countless lifetimes of horrors and protect his newfound family as well, dark forces are amassing, hunting for a very specific Time Lord. The Doctor soon finds himself trapped in a complicated web and he has to find out who the spider at its centre is before it's too late.
He also has to deal with the Pandora's box of unwanted feelings when his best friend slash nemesis (slash ex, as Donna would say) is back on his radar again. And the plot might thicken more than anyone involved would like it to...
