    Summary

In the world of transcendents, magic is powerful—but it is not meant to be wielded alone. Those born with magic are often paired with a soul-bonded shifter, a being tied to them at the deepest level of existence.

    A second soul.

    A second heartbeat.

A constant presence at their side.

Soul-bonded shifters can strengthen their transcendent in countless ways—amplifying magic, grounding unstable power, even sharing strength in moments of weakness. But the true nature of the bond goes far beyond power.

For some, it becomes a quiet, unshakable partnership—a deep, platonic connection built on trust and understanding.

For others… it becomes something more.

    Something fated.

    Something inevitable.

    A soulmate.

    Ilya is Shane’s.

    Summary

Finding your soulmate is supposed to be beautiful. You stand in front of someone and you say their full name; they say yours. Your soulmarks appear somewhere on your bodies, and it's supposed to be beautiful. Life-changing.

It's not supposed to happen a week before the World Juniors tournament in a dirty Saskatchewan parking lot. It's not supposed to be Canada's newest darling hockey player and your future rival who whispers your name. It's not supposed to be a boy that your skin blooms for.

And if that does happen, despite the fact that it shouldn't, you're definitely not supposed to lie to your soulmate's face, refuse to say his name in return, and pretend that you never felt your soulmark appear at all. And if that happens, somehow, you're definitely not supposed to kiss him less than a year later. And then later. And then later. And then later, until you realize you never want to leave his bed despite the fact that you've never told him the truth about the bear tattoo on your chest.

or, finding out that his soulmate is Shane Hollander isn't beautiful. Ilya can't pretend that it's not life-changing though.

    Summary

Shane Hollander is the number two overall NHL draft pick and a newly minted Montreal Voyageur. He’s also laser focused on his goals: being the best by beating the best. For him, this means a continued rivalry with number one draft pick—and new Ottawa Centaur—Ilya Rozanov. But when a problem with Rozanov’s immigration paperwork threatens his future in the NHL, what does that mean for Shane’s own career? He can’t risk finding out…so they get married. Just for immigration. A fast, practical, mutually beneficial solution.

No one will ever suspect, let alone find out, that the NHL’s greatest rivals are secretly married. And there’s certainly no risk of feelings getting involved. They have a game plan.
