Summary
The thing is, Phineas had never been allowed to want Spahr, for a myriad of reasons. Spahr was his mentor, his role model, not to mention his superior officer. Spahr had been born into more Valor than Phineas could even imagine, and the Caenum-laced abacus that Phineas had worn for most of his career served as a heavy, constant reminder that he would never be worthy of Spahr's time, or attention, or affection. Not to mention that Spahr was Spahr, and could have anyone in the cosmos that he wanted, with that damnable charm and those incredible good looks.
But the Trust is gone, and with it everything that held both of them back.
And Spahr wants Phineas.
