Sara stops playing and turns around. “There’s the new boy.”
David raises his eyebrows, “A boy?”
Sara smiles and folds her hands in her lap, “No, the boy.”
Leonie groans.

Summary
Using the moment of quiet, David glances over at the boy again. He seems to be around David’s age, with blue eyes, long lashes and a tousled mop of blonde hair that’s attesting to the fact that he overslept. Even now, he’s slouching over the counter, his chin in one hand as he looks out onto the Christmas market, eyelids droopy. If David isn’t mistaken, his eyes are a little red, which also explains the faint scent of weed that has mixed in with the smell of gingerbread and toasted almonds.
David fights the urge to roll his eyes. So he’s stuck with a lazy stoner for the next few weeks. This just keeps getting better.
(or: an AU in which matteo and david work at the christmas market together and david is convinced matteo is homophobic. tomfoolery ensues. written for the druck advent calendar 2019)

Summary
David's 19th most popular video is an apartment tour with some of his friends and his sister screaming in the background the entire time. He was redecorating, so there was stuff thrown around everywhere with his walls half-painted and furniture pushed into the wrong places in most rooms. He doesn’t really think about it after he posts it. He only really made it because people were asking for it, and he wanted something easy to post for that week while he was still working on getting things back in order with his disheveled apartment and everything else. So he never even notices the comments.

It takes him several tries to light the joint between his own lips and hand it to David. When he looks up, the other one looks amused.
‘You’re so drunk.’
‘You’re so drunk,’ Matteo parrots before thinking, but it makes David’s lips stretch into a smile around the joint in his mouth, and fuck, that’s a sight.

Matteo (instead of Carlos) fails his Abi. Him and David don't meet until about a year later when Matteo feels isolated and inadequate as everybody is moving on except for him. They bond over pizza and assassins.
Including: A demon cat with a stupid name, friendship and bad flirting (what else is new)

Summary
David has tried to get Matteo to sit for him before, but never with much success. It usually takes about five minutes for Matteo to get bored, to start moving about and cracking stupid jokes and another five, if David is lucky, until he’s snatching the sketchbook out of his hands and taking its space in his lap instead. No matter how hard David tries to persuade him, there are few things that can keep Matteo from fidgeting and running his mouth; strong ropes and David’s undivided attention seem to do the trick, though.

When Jonas saw Matteo and Sara make out at the party, he was certainly surprised, as Matteo had shown absolutely no previous interest in Sara or really in any romantic relationship before, but he was also proud of his friend; look there, he had said, elbowing Carlos, our little Luigi actually has moves!
(It’s probably either the inherent italian charm or that typical Matteo-ish charm that does it. It’s the mix of awkwardness, idiocy and surprising sweetness that had first drawn Jonas in, too)
