Within just two hours of being there he meets an old friend, makes some new ones, and manages to develop a crush on the PE teacher. But of course, much like everything else in his life, it was never going to be that simple.
***2025 update: I'm sorry everyone but after years of telling myself I'll get around to finishing this, I've come to terms with the fact that I probably won't. I'm a different person and a different writer now and the only way I'm going to be able to finish this is if I start over and completely rewrite the whole thing. One day maybe I will, but for now I'm letting it go.

Bucky turns where he’s standing in front of the door, hand still on the handle. “Yes, sir?”
“You can ask me questions too, you know.” Steve’s voice is quieter now, still looking at Bucky from the kitchen. “Just not the codes to the nukes, and whatnot.”
Bucky can see a softness on Steve’s face, unsure of how else to read it. “I’ll remember that,” he says, meaning it.
