He stares in awe as more light begins to grant him proper sight in the room, and he’s startled by how different it all looks. Gone are the missing chunks of wall and holes in the floor. The inside looks perfectly fine now. The wooden floors are carpeted and the walls are clean, the paint coats looking fresh and neat. Paintings hang on the walls, accompanied by little tables with vases of lively flowers underneath.
“What in the world is going on here?” He asks, feeling a little lightheaded. Is he dreaming? Surely he must be. There’s no way an abandoned building would look this nice inside! And the candles! They don’t just light up on their own!
“That’s what I’d like to know.”
