Summary
Rationally, Jayce is aware that Viktor provokes fights purely for his own enjoyment at least half the time. Not even someone as dead-set on being a bastard can realistically find enough reasons to start an argument as frequently as Viktor does. Rationally, Jayce is aware that he only gives Viktor what he wants when he responds to the provocation with anything other than pure indifference.
It’s real fucking difficult to stay indifferent when Viktor starts talking, though, and the urge to rip him apart is so physically overpowering, Jayce really has no other choice than to at least scream at him a little bit.
Or: Viktor pushes, and Jayce has no other choice than to push back, because his ego has always been fragile like that.

Viktor didn’t pull his punches today. He wanted Jayce to take real damage in this fight. He wanted him to suffer. He’s pissed off for some reason other than the countless, fleeting, intangible reasons they’ve both been pissed off at each other for half a decade.
Jayce intends to find out exactly what that reason is.

The house is off-white, pristine vinyl siding and a neatly trimmed lawn, just like the photos had shown. There were a couple of things the pictures hadn’t shown, though, most notably the pride flag mounted on a small pole at the end of the walkway. It blows gently in the breeze, the familiar rainbow of colors unexpected. Genji and Jesse share a look, then both glance back at the yard.
There’s a truck in the driveway with a flatbed trailer hitched up to it, full of old appliances and dusty furniture. The trailer’s metal ramp is unfolded onto the concrete, and there’s a man walking up it, carrying what looks like an old clothes dryer. It’s enormous, and bulky, and he carries it up the ramp and sets it down like it weighs nothing at all. His muscles flex, and he’s sweating, but that’s the only indication that he’s throwing around heavy furniture with staggering ease.
He’s definitely older.
They’re both staring as the man lifts the hem of his shirt to wipe sweat off his face. His abdomen is obscene.
“Is this the right house?” Jesse hears himself ask, almost forlorn. Genji nods in a daze without bothering to glance at his phone again.
“This is definitely where we need to be."

Summary
Jesse hasn’t had a good meal in a long time.
That’s not to say that he hasn’t eaten well or enough. Overwatch feeds him three times a day, and the food is good enough to put fat on his ribs and keep his stomach from grumbling. He has access to coffee every morning, vegetables and fruit at all three meals, and seasonal foods around holidays.
But the food in Zurich is a far cry from the food in Texas where he grew up. He misses beans, and tortilla chips with queso, chili and cornbread, good barbecue, and food with actual spice in it. Overwatch has kept him well fed, but he hasn’t been able to cook for himself, and he sure hasn’t had a home-cooked meal in years. He misses homemade food.
