“Bad.” Back turned towards him, she continued, “I almost said that you can imagine, but you can't, I guess. Not like I can. The Blight is… a lot. Too much by now. When it's over, it's… It will be a relief. For her.” She let out a shaky breath and turned around. “So thank you. For coming."

After almost a decade of a tumultuous relationship, Rook and Lucanis made the choice to cut ties for good. Yet when Rook's time comes, Lucanis visits the Weisshaupt fortress to make good on a contract taken ten years ago — to see Rook through the end of her Calling.

“It’s a kiss scene,” Bellara blurts out. "The one I'm stuck on."
“Uh-huh.” Rook closes her book and puts it aside. “What’s wrong with it?”
“It’s like I can’t get a feel for it. At all.” She gets up from her chair, hoping that maybe a switch from horizontal to vertical can also become a switch from the stuck-state to a flow-state.
Doesn’t help. Still worth trying.
“If you are out of practice, why not get some?” Rook asks.
“Where?” She blinks. “I don’t think there are places where you can get practice kisses from strangers. Well, actually, there are, maybe. But I wouldn’t know.”
“Never heard about those, personally.” Rook shrugs. “But I’m right here.”
When Belllara gets stuck on writing a kiss scene for her story, Rook kindly offers her help.
