   There is no hyperbole when I say "By necessity" is a masterpiece. Beautifully written, amazingly characterized, and completely embodying the soul and spirit of the source material while standing alone as an amazing piece of literature by itself. The author uses the canon setting so cleverly, has an incredible knack for portraying emotions, for portraying both tenderness and suffering. The words they use feel like a tactical missile aimed directly at my heart.
