Summary
It wasn't fair. If Jakey could only use three words to describe his life, he was sure that'd be it.
He liked Henry well enough, but it just wasn't fair. Why was he accepted so easily when Jakey still felt like a dog being led on by a bone?Rather than puzzling out the answer behind that question, Jakey instead attempts to justify to himself the betrayal of the people who gave him a second 'home'. He's not sure it works, but eventually it helps him sleep at least.

Lips parted into a frozen 'O' and mouth suddenly very dry, Kaveh released Alhaitham’s wrist and snatched the paper to read it more closely.
Each line was filthier than the last.
“... Oh,” Kaveh eventually croaked, skimming the page and staring blankly at the messy handwriting.
Alhaitham was glaring at the ceiling, arms crossed over his chest - though he hadn’t shoved Kaveh off of his lap as he would’ve expected him to by now. “Yeah. Oh.”
“Their grammar is atrocious,” Kaveh breathed, unable to think of anything else to say.
