Summary
Teammates for a summer, opponents for the rest of their lives?
The NHL loves Shane and Ilya’s brief shared history and makes sure everyone knows about it. A rivalry is worth more with a good story attached, and any hope either of them had for working out how to leave that summer in Moscow is rapidly disappearing.
It would probably help if they stopped giving each other new reasons to hold on to it.
