Summary
Kaveh blinked, stunned into silence. Alhaitham took the opportunity to step closer, until there was barely a breath of space between them. He reached out, his hand hovering near Kaveh’s, but he didn’t touch him—not yet.
“Hypothesis,” Alhaitham murmured, his voice impossibly soft. “You’ve been hiding because you were afraid of rejection. But you didn’t need to be.”

Summary
Momo Ayase was already annoyed when she climbed the stairs to Okarun’s apartment. He had been dodging her texts all morning, something she didn’t think was possible for someone who responded to messages faster than most people blinked.
Her irritation mixed with something else—something heavier. Okarun never ignored her. If anything, he was annoyingly over-communicative.
Okarun get stuck in his cursed form. Momo helps him.

Summary
Turbo Granny floated nearby, her beady eyes scanning the racks with disinterest. “What’s the holdup, kid? Pick something and let’s move.”
“It has to be perfect,” Okarun muttered, picking up a small snow globe before setting it back down. “This isn’t just some random present. It’s for—uh, I mean, it’s for someone important.”
“Oh, important, is it?” Turbo Granny teased, her grin widening. “You’re thinking about her, aren’t you?”
“No!” Okarun said quickly, his face flushing red. “I’m thinking about… everyone! All of them!”
Okarun and Momo spend Christmas together with Seiko, Aira, Jiji and Turbo Granny. Everyone, except Seiko, forgot to buy their Christmas presents.

Summary
“You’re back,” Alhaitham said without looking up, his voice calm and measured. He dipped his quill back into the inkwell and continued to write, the scratch of pen against parchment filling the room. “I was beginning to think the Akademiya had finally swallowed you whole.”
Kaveh rolled his eyes, dumping his armload onto a side table with less care than he probably should have. “If only. Then I wouldn’t have to deal with you every day.”

Summary
“Kaveh,” he said, his voice low and velvety smooth, each syllable dipped in the kind of exasperated affection that only came out when he’d had just enough alcohol to soften his usual bluntness, “if you’re going to lecture me, at least do it with some coherence. You’re starting to sound like one of those second-rate poets in the Grand Bazaar.”
The remark earned a scandalized gasp from Kaveh, who slammed his glass down on the table with a force that made Alhaitham’s eyebrows twitch upward. “How dare you?!” Kaveh exclaimed, though his indignation was undermined by the hiccup that followed. “I am nothing like those hacks! My critiques are—are…” He faltered, waving his hand vaguely as he tried to summon the right word. “…eloquent! That’s the one. Eloquent and biting, unlike your personality, which is about as sharp as a wet loaf of bread.”
