“You'll die if you stay behind,” Clarke grits out, yanking the pack and cord and glancing at her watch. Just under ten minutes now. Her heart stutters. “Bellamy, if you don't go now—”
“I'm not leaving you,” Bellamy says fiercely, reaching out to grasp the pole of the tower, mimicking her motions with a stubborn set to his jaw. “Either we both make it, or neither of us do. Now tell me what to do, and let's get it done.”
Clarke closes her eyes briefly, swallowing down her frustration and grief. Now isn't the time for it. She knows that changing Bellamy’s mind is next to impossible when he's dead-set on something. She just wishes he wasn't so set on dying alongside her.
“Climb,” Clarke snaps, then proceeds to take her own advice, focusing on the task at hand.

Gilbert stared at her with wide eyes, struggling to take in a breath. “Carrots?” he muttered, his hand travelling to her braid. If this were a different situation, Anne would have scolded him, or yelled at him, or possibly even broken something over his head like last time; but the reality hit her hard, and she couldn’t for one second be mad at him for bringing back her dreaded nickname. In fact, she was glad of it- at least he still recognised her.

Bash arrives at Green Gables in the middle of the night, holding onto a nearly unconscious and terribly ill Gilbert. All he can do is hope the Cuthberts can keep him safe in time for him to fetch a doctor.
Turns out whatever sickness Gilbert has won't be going away overnight. In fact, things tend to get worse. However, Anne will be right there with him, and she's willing to stay for however long it takes.
