Summary
"We wake and whisper awhile,
But, the day gone by,
Silence and sleep like fields
Of Amaranth lie."
- Walter de La MareEmmrich Volkarin had never intended to step foot inside a brothel. But Orlais was a land of color, temptation, and masked truths, and something about the velvet dusk, the wine-sweet air, the perfumed streets—all of it—it stirred in him an ache he could no longer reason away.He told himself it was curiosity. He told himself it was harmless. A clinical indulgence of something so many others had sampled. He gave a false name and stepped through the brothel’s door expecting artifice, practiced flirtation, and emotional distance. Sating of a curiosity. Once. Just once.
He did not expect her—
And from that moment, Emmrich’s careful world began to tilt.** indicates explicit content

Summary
Rook had made two discoveries, as of late. The first was that she was falling in love with the Lighthouse's resident necromancer.
The second was that Emmrich Volkarin was an absurdly, unfairly pretty crier.
(Five times Emmrich cried beautifully, and one time he ugly sobbed like a normal person.)

Summary
A modern AU where Emmrich owns a bookstore and hosts a small, chaotic book club. Rook gets roped into joining and immediately butts heads with Emmrich over everything. The rest of the group finds this hilarious. As the debates (and sexual tension) grow, Rook and Emmrich realize they might not hate each other as much as they thought.

Summary
Emmrich had let the idea of a wedding and family go a while back despite it being a long-standing dream for his life. He was getting something he never thought he would.
Technically a sequel to my fic Aureate, but can be read alone without too much confusion.

Finally, he met her. Rook.
Emmrich Volkarin had no idea just what he was letting himself into when he accepted the offer to join The Veilguard. Drawn in by their beautiful leader and fellow Watcher, Rook, it isn’t just adventure Emmrich finds at her side.
