“Hannibal?”
His voice is garbled from the wound in his cheek and weak from disuse, it’s the first word he said in five days since their fall, the first time he came to from drug-induced sleep Hannibal put him into.
“Yes, Will,” he doesn’t sound much better, who else is he going to talk to if Will is not here to respond?
“Alive…”
With that, Will’s out again. His reply was so faded that Hannibal didn’t have time to decipher whether it was a question or a statement, if Will is happy that they are or dissatisfied with it. Could it be a suffering sigh of disappointment?
Hannibal’s stomach hurts and it has nothing to do with the wounds on his own body. There is a lot to think about.

At this point in his life, Dean is cool with almost anything. Motels with dubious aesthetics, cases that are difficult to solve due to lack of information and bubbly drinks whose ingredients didn't exist until yesterday. But Dean isn't cool if the case involves acting like he and Cas are a cute couple and they have to kiss and hold hands, because it doesn't matter that he is a well seasoned hunter with years and years of fake identities behind his back. He's very bad at faking feelings.

Summary
Finishing a case takes longer than expected, so even when Dean really wants to do an all-nighter so he and Cas can be back in the Bunker as fast as possible, after some persuasion, Dean agrees to check into a motel for the night. They meet the motel manager Lucille, who happily gives them a special room... with only one bed.
The morning after is fraught with tension, over things said and unsaid. As Dean and Cas drive the few remaining hours home, tension rises until Dean breaks.

Dean and Castiel manage to find the only motel in a small Ohio town after a rather disastrous hunt. Unfortunately, the only room that is left has a single King sized bed. Unwilling to venture back out into the torrential downpour of rain outside, Dean and Cas are left to brood. How is it fair that they are now trapped in a bed with the man they secretly love.
"Dean couldn’t shake the image of his friend asleep next to him, a vague silhouette of wild hair and smooth skin, the blankets only pulled half way up his chest. The last thing he heard before he fell asleep was a whisper from Cas, barely audible, “Thank you Dean”"

In July I wrote this on my tumblr:
concept: Cas hears Dean and Sam asking for ‘two queens’ at motels so many times that one time when he and Dean are on a hunt together he walks confidently up to the front desk and says “we are two queens”. the motel owner is like “yeah bud i guessed” and puts them in a king room. Cas does not notice anything is wrong. Dean is trapped in his own personal hell and cannot say a word.
This is the fic of that post.
