It should have been satisfying watching the way shock immediately blushed over Ilya’s face, but all Shane could feel was embarrassment for even admitting it.
“He was… I mean… He was all over you. And it– I don’t know, I was just so angry that he was touching you that I— I don’t know. I just saw red and, I don’t even remember all of it.”
Shane felt like he was losing himself. He knew he was more emotional these past few weeks, a swirling mess of feelings and breaking his diet and lazying around more, but he had chalked most of it up to Ilya’s influence.

Summary
Shane Hollander was an incredible hockey player. His shot accuracy was legendary. He was a fantastic strategist and play caller. He, despite Ilya's insistence otherwise, was one of the fastest on the ice. Still, none of that was what made Shane great.
What made him great was how he cared. Shane would do anything for his team - including get his hands a little dirty.
OR
Shane Hollander can be bad, too. Five times Shane's gloves come off on the ice.

Summary
Shane and Ilya's wedding had been perfect.
Maybe not in the literal sense, much to Shane's chagrin, but despite the forgotten first dance song and the constant happy tears welling up between them, neither would change the day for a thing.
On a purely selfish note, though- Ilya wishes they'd kept more of the cake to themselves.
