The stranger lay on the ground next to Nicholas, writhing in pain. He seemed dazed and inconsolable, drenched in a thick layer of sweat. The cries and whimpers he let out sounded distinctly like a wounded animal. Harua knew what the stranger’s current state entailed. He had seen it once before, when Yuma had joined their pack all those years ago. All were clear indications of a human undergoing a transformation into a werewolf.
