Summary
In which Akutagawa and Atsushi are high school seniors, and Akutagawa is chronically ill. What happens when you fall in love with someone who is out of time?
*rivals/one-sided hate to friends to lovers would be more accurate than “enemies to lovers”
*I’m basing this AU off of the American school system because it’s easier to write about what I know. Here’s your basic info:
Atsushi is still an orphan like in the canon, but in this AU he was able to go to school while living in the orphanage. How? Don’t know. It’s irrelevant to the plot. He lives on his own by the time the story starts.
Akutagawa is 20, but he is also a high school senior. Due to his lung disease, he spent a lot of time in the hospital and was held back two years for missing so much school. Nobody besides his sister and closest friend know the real reason for why he missed so much school. He and his sister live alone.
Dazai is a teacher in this AU. He plays an important role in this story.
Tanizaki is Atsushi's best friends, and Kyouka is like a little sister to him.
Chuuya is Akutagawa’s best friend. He is one of the two people who know about Akutagawa’s condition. He already graduated and is working at a flower shop.Series

Summary
Numbness is an enigma, just like he; they were two of a kind. It robbed him of any semblance of his humanity or that which may have belonged to him in a past life.
A life where he had once decided to give living a shot. One last chance at redemption, and yet even after that chance was used up, he was still standing. He wasn't fully there (he never was), but this wasn't what he had planned, although the world loved reminding him of his place.

Summary
This had been another one of those nights. Dazai had shown up at Chuuya’s penthouse apartment for the fourth time this week. Dazai knew his redhead usually came home a considerable amount later than the time he arrived, but he’d hoped that things would go his way just this once. But in another display of his misfortune, Chuuya wasn’t home.

Dazai is going through a depressive episode and goes over to Chuuya's for comfort and company but Chuuya isn't there, so he's left to deal alone until he is home
