“You hate scare mazes,” Robin reminds him. “There’s absolutely no way you respect their craft.”

Eddie needs a job. Desperately.
The bills are piling up and the cupboards are empty, and they can only survive on ramen noodles and leftovers from the bar that Gareth works at for so long.
It seems like fate when Gareth hands her a scrap of paper with a phone number for the manager of an artist looking for a female guitarist to go on tour with them, so Eddie calls. She’ll take anything at this point, she even pushes past the garish pink that litters Stevie’s instagram. She can play pop music if it means that they won’t lose the apartment. Shit, the contract Nancy had sent over had given her a number high enough that Eddie would be willing to play Hot Cross Buns on a recorder stark naked.
Only, Stevie’s not what she thought.
She doesn’t play pop music, for a start. She’s got her own take on metalcore that shakes Eddie’s view of the world entirely, caught between a pretty girl and the aesthetic that she’s pretty sure has set feminism back a few decades.
Still, she can’t get out of the contract now; she has to learn to live with it, even if Stevie being a painfully straight girl singing about other women is grating on her very last nerve.OR - The genderbent Steddie rockstar AU nobody asked for.

It was supposed to be a relaxing weekend.
And look, Steve knows that it’s not Robin’s fault. Her parents had assured her that the lake house slept four people. It was a little cabin just off of Indian Lake, perfect for the break she wanted to give Nancy. They were still in their little honeymoon phase and it was adorable; so when Robin came to him with the idea of them all going away for a weekend to get Nancy’s mind off of college stress, it seemed like a no-brainer.
OR: Steve is good at compartmentalising until a combination of s'mores, weed, and only one bed gets in the way.

Eddie stares down at the paper in his hands.
He’s the first Munson to go to college. The thought fills him with both excitement and pure, unrelenting dread. All of the Munson men before him had been alphas or betas, so it hadn’t been too hard to convince everyone else that he was one too. He’d invested in a packer and hid behind the wall he created; he was loud and brash, got ahold of the best scent blockers he could with his budget. He didn’t have much of a budget, really, but Rick was willing to work out a deal with Eddie if he sold for him. And that only added to the cover, really, who ever heard of an omega drug dealer?

Whoever had dropped him off had the sense to put him in a box with a raggedy blanket, but it had been raining pretty hard, and the poor thing was shivering. Summary
Eddie doesn’t mind Christmas, he really doesn’t. It’s nice to spend time with family, eat a lot of food, and give his loved ones gifts, it just isn’t really his aesthetic.
Halloween is much more Eddie’s style. In fact, he has started giving people gifts on Halloween too, just to get other people to feel the anticipation and excitement that he feels for the entire month of October. Halloween is his Christmas.
So no, he doesn’t hate Christmas by any means. Still, he’s not thrilled about his agent requesting him to write a Christmas romance novel.

Steve strokes the strange material that surrounds him. It’s cold, like the rocks he would find on the floor of the lake, but so much smoother. He’d found smooth rocks before, of course, but he’d never found one quite as smooth as this. And it’s a gleaming white, pristine in a way that rocks never are, not even a single speck of colour to tarnish the surface.
“It’s okay,” the human soothes him. Or, Steve thinks he’s soothing him. His tone is soft and he hasn’t left his side since he found him washed up on the shore of the lake, so far away from the others. So far away from Robin. “You’re safe here.”

Nevermind that he has never met Eddie, or that he seems a little weird from what Steve can gather, Steve just needs a place to live that's cheap enough and Eddie is offering exactly that. A roommate in a one-bedroom apartment should be fine. Even if there's only one bed, right? They're never even going to meet each other since they keep opposite schedules.

Ghosted was just such a public way to go about it, a crazy way to ask Eddie why he’d not heard back from him in two years. Most people wouldn’t like being accosted on a live radio show, right?
“Robs, this is crazy,” Steve groaned. “It’s been two years and we went on one date.”
“And yet you’re still pining over him,” she rolled her eyes and folded her arms over her chest; Steve knew it was over for him once she did that. Robin meant business, and there was no way of getting out of it now. “I’m sick of hearing about it. So tell all of Indianapolis instead.”

“Ah, Edward Munson, nice of you to join us,” Mr Dean narrowed his eyes. The clock on the wall by his desk read 8:52. “Late on the first day, I hope this won’t become a habit.”
Eddie had to stop himself from rolling his eyes, “Sorry I’m late, Sir,” he managed to say, narrowly avoiding sarcasm.

Steve Harrington didn't really need much to be happy. He was finally signing divorce papers, ready to be free of his ex-wife. He liked his job at the coffee shop, especially because he got to do it beside his best friend in the whole world. And it didn't hurt that Steve's favorite customer, a guy with dark messy curls and a smile to die for, kept coming back to order his usual.
The only weird thing was that Eddie didn't seem to be drinking his coffee because his cup was always full at the end of the night. So Steve made his mission to find a drink Eddie would like, he just didn't imagine it would be something a little... Different.

There was always a noticeable difference when Chrissy had been around her parents. She shifted from a bubbly whirlwind, loud and bright enough to rival Robin, into something entirely different. She folded in on herself, made every attempt to make herself smaller, unnoticeable.
Robin watched as she arrived home, shoulders slumped and feet dragging along the floor, as if simply picking up her feet was too much to bear. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail, in the way that Robin knew Chrissy’s mother approved of, since it reminded her that Chrissy was once a cheerleader. Steve snapped around to meet her eye, finally turning away from the mirror, “So you’re saying that the problem is the pants?”
Robin allowed herself to collapse backwards onto the bed, no longer dealing with the aggravating task that was holding herself up and dealing with Steve’s crises at the same time. She almost considered telling him to cancel the whole thing if he was so anxious about it, but she knew that would go down like a lead balloon.

“You wanna make some cash?” The question came out of nowhere, but Steve had Eddie’s attention.
“What’re you looking for, Harrington?” Eddie’s hand went back to his lunchbox, which was sat between his feet. “I have a couple of hard and fast lines for what I’m not willing to sell, but I can source most things.” Eddie fished around in his lunchbox, it was quite empty now, but he thought there might be something in there which Steve could settle for.
“No. No, not that,” Steve shook his head, his eyes intently on the burning cherry of his cigarette. He hadn’t lifted it to his lips for a few minutes, seemingly content to watch it burn and enjoy the smell. Eddie held back his annoyance at this, wishing that Steve had chosen one of his own cigarettes to waste.
“What, then?” Eddie tore his gaze away from the unappreciated cigarette. Seeming to sense the irritation building up inside Eddie, Steve took a long drag.
“Look,” Steve’s voice cracked slightly – was he nervous? Eddie held back a smirk. “This is certifiably insane, but hear me out.”
