Summary
He watched as the child bumped into a group of kids sending the entirety of them into a giggle fit as they playfully shoved at each other. One of the kids pointed to the jungle gym and the group set off for their goal. Yuuji’s smile softened as he watched the group race for jungle gym and then continue the race as they pulled themselves hand over hand to the top.
Children had always been his favorite to work with. Their pure innocence was something else. It pushed the evil in the world a little bit further away. For a time, at least.
As he watched the first child pull herself to the top rung, a cry of victorious success swelling from her lungs, a shiver raced down Yuuji’s spine. The hair on the back of his neck stood on end and goosepimples broke over his arms. The smile fell from his face and he casually looked over his shoulder. He shoved his trembling hands into his jacket pockets, squeezing them into fists.
