Summary
He really was the only person left - an alien on an otherwise normal planet. It was just that thanks to Weeoo they didn’t treat him as such, and having spent the vast majority of his life followed around by a nagging sense of unwantedness, he was grateful.

Summary
Set in a stylized version of early 1900s London, where every human bears the head of a rabbit, Appetite is a psychological horror short story I have created that follows the unsettling, homoerotic relationship between two men: Jack Carnaby, a feral snowshoe hare with a taste for flesh, and Edwin Lapin, a refined, domesticated European rabbit who prides himself on civility, composure, and control.
Their world is one where hunger—social, emotional, and literal—lurks beneath every word. Jack represents the wilderness of want, a predator hiding behind a smile. Edwin, ever the gentleman, tells himself he’s above such things. But week after week, he returns to Jack’s side. To listen. To learn. To feel something primal stir under the lace of his gloves.
As disappearances haunt the city and polite society turns a blind eye, Edwin is drawn deeper into Jack’s orbit. An orbit of love, but also of reflection. Because behind Jack’s teeth, Edwin sees something familiar: a mirror he’s too afraid to shatter.
Appetite is a grotesque and metaphorical descent into obsession, shame, and the violence we dress in velvet.

Summary
It starts to get annoying when she keeps noticing it because, seriously, he’s such a fucking asshole. She doesn’t care if he needs stupid little notes to remind him to be an adult or whatever.
But then he stands between her and soldier with a gun and refuses to move.
And beats his knuckles bloody killing the guy.
Or: Joel is bad at taking care of himself, but he keeps taking care of Ellie. He also keeps noticing her laughter.

Summary
It’s the same Joel and it isn’t - still rough around the edges with strangers and slow drawl and she still manages to sneak up on him from his right side - but he’s changed since Colorado and Utah and everything that happened in between. Ellie would almost be tempted to joke that penicillin made him nicer, but she knows it has more to do with finding her monosyllabic and covered in blood and trying to fix it because that’s what Joel does, he fixes things.
Joel fixes the light in the dining room, the drain in the sink, and she tries not to think of what his version of fixing things would’ve been in the hospital, hates that she knows he was probably lying and hates that she knows she won’t call him out on it. Right now, he’s fixing an old window air conditioning unit because otherwise she’s taken to threatening to sleep in the river if she has to try to sleep in 90 degree heat because the ancient central air of the house can’t keep up.
