It is not often that Oikawa Tooru finds himself entirely helpless. Being trapped in an elevator is something he could deal with, he thinks; being trapped in an elevator thirty minutes before Olympic tryouts, even, is something he could deal with; being trapped in an elevator thirty minutes before Olympic tryouts with “Miya Atsumu” can surely be nothing other than some morbidly-timed divine retribution for crimes he must have committed in a past life.

Summary
Slowly, Iwaizumi swivels his head around to eye the innocuous door. His first thought is to knock it down and throw Oikawa out the window. His second thought is to throw the speaker out the window instead, because it takes two to pay rent.
He does neither, because the speaker was an investment, rent is expensive, and Oikawa Tooru is something close to 72kg of pure muscle.

Summary
Clearly Iwaizumi had a checkered past. Kyoutani has never asked about it, nor has Iwaizumi ever brought it up. He knows it’s a sore spot for his mentor, just like the gorgeous Monte Carlo he keeps hidden away is, so he leaves it alone. Out on the streets, you learn a little something about when to turn a blind eye in order to survive; Kyoutani knows better than most to leave the past of men like Iwaizumi well alone.
It’s probably got something to do with the boy in the polaroids, though.

Hanamaki shrugged. “It’s Iwaizumi, he literally has ‘rock’ in his name,” he pointed out.
“He thought my animal blood was wine—I’ve been drinking it around him for the last fifteen years! How does he still think it's whatever red beverage that's convenient for the occasion?”
“I mean, you do remember how he religiously bought you those vending machine tomato juice cans, right?”
