“You’re supposed to be resting,” Kaidan replies, and damn is it hard to resist that voice. “You won’t recover if you keep working like this.”
Shepard very tactfully does not mention all the times in the last two years where he has, in fact, recovered by brute-forcing his way through work. “I’ll walk it off.”
“How on earth,” Kaidan asks, his grip around Shepard’s shoulders tightening slightly, “do you plan to walk off a dented skull?”
“Carefully,” Shepard replies.
“Shepard.”
(In which Shepard hits his implants and they play up, Kaidan experiences the reality of having a reanimated boyfriend, and Shepard learns to enjoy cuddles.)
