Miko’s eyes flutter open at the touch, her bleary purple eyes staring at Ei.
The room is dark, but the moonlight shines upon Miko’s figure softly, highlighting her in silver, giving her an ethereal glow. Ei has seen nothing more beautiful.
Ei smiles when those purple eyes widen, seeming to finally recognize her.
“Hi,” Ei greets.
“You’re home.”
“I’m home.”
“Hi.”
Ei laughs softly as Miko lets out a yawn, stretching like a cat.

“It’s you,” she said, and wondered if her injury had left her more tired than she had initially assumed, unclear as to the reason her heart had decided to pick up its pace from within her chest.
A pair of ears twitching upon the shrine maiden’s head in light amusement - the same shade as the rest of her hair and a lovely compliment to the sakura that decorated the shrine - was her first response. The second was a curl of her lips and amusement that danced within her eyes, a light laugh tumbling from her throat that mimicked the tinkling sound of the kagura bells.
It was only then, after the prelude of her laughter and the like, that the shrine maiden spoke, coupling the words with an affirmative dip of her head. “It’s me.”
